This wheelset features high-grade aluminium rims, carbon hub-shells, a titanium freehub body and itâs not only disc brake specific but also features a super-advanced, but easy to set up the tubeless system. This wheelset is ready to ride anywhere on the mountain, for the longest of Cross Country race sessions, epic adventures exploring the peaks and adrenaline-fuelled gravity days at your local trail centre. Technologies
MoMag
This system is unique to Fulcrum development, known as the âMounting Magnetâ system, or MoMag. This consists of the spoke nipples, once mounted inside the rim via the valve hole, are âguidedâ to the point of connection with the spoke by the use of a magnet. This simple problem-solving system makes it possible to have wheels without spoke holes on the upper rim bridge, but still uses spokes tensioned by traditional nipples. The bonus of having no holes on the rim means that the rim is uniform and super-strong at every point, free from weakness, stress points and if wanting to run the wheel tubeless, no rim tape is required, and this also benefits weight reduction. The advantages are immediately clear: greater rim lifetime, greater resistance to fatigue, the possibility to give the spokes greater tension, and greater stiffness which, in terms of performance, mean greater reactivity and acceleration. And not only that. The advantages make it extremely easy to work on and change spokes.
Unrolled Rim Bed
Featuring no holes on the central section of the rim means that the rim is uniform at every point, free from critical areas subject to stress. The advantages are immediately clear: less weight, longer lasting rims, greater resistance to fatigue, the possibility of giving the spokes more tension and more stiffness which, in terms of performance, means improved responsiveness and acceleration.
2:1 Two-To-One
Every push on the pedals from the rider will force most of that energy on the drive side of the rear wheel. To combat this loss of rim tension and power transfer, Fulcrum has solved this cycling problem with their 2:1 spoke ratio pattern by doubling the spoke count in crucial zones on the wheel.
Anti-Rotation System
This system locks the spoke in place once the correct tension is achieved. Engineers at Fulcrum have designed this system to ensure the spokes never lose their initial tension and to remain in the position that has been proven to provide the perfect aerodynamic properties.
